This September in Shanghai, the 2025 FDI World Dental Congress (FDIWDC25) will welcome thousands of oral health professionals from around the world. Alongside its dynamic keynote lectures and scientific sessions, this year’s programme features four dedicated interactive clinical symposia, each focused on a key domain of clinical dentistry: aesthetic dental restorations, vital pulp therapy, periodontal healthcare and implant restorations. Structured as a 2-hour expert panel, each symposium aims not only to present cutting-edge research and techniques but also to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue, practical knowledge exchange and peer-to-peer learning—all with the goal of elevating patient care worldwide. In this interview, FDI speaks with Dr Uğur Ergin, returning speaker and long-time FDI contributor, about his past experiences, what excites him about this year’s programme and the value of interactive symposia in shaping the future of clinical practice.
