ISTANBUL, Turkey: In a world where oral disease affects nearly half of the global population, achieving universal coverage for oral healthcare by 2030 is an urgent imperative. Since 2021, governments have taken concrete policy actions to promote oral health. The World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) Global Strategy and Action Plan on Oral Health 2023–2030, which aligns with FDI’s Vision 2030, has set forth ambitious targets. While these policy developments are important, more actions are needed, especially with respect to health systems.
